Key points

  • You can prepare to quit in October, at your own pace.

  • A kit and support are available free of charge.

  • You can discuss cravings and difficulties with a professional.

Preparing to quit, step by step

  1. Identify situations that make you want to smoke: coffee, breaks, stress or social moments.

  2. Choose a date and plan how to ask friends, family or a professional for support.

  3. Before your chosen day, find out about support, nicotine replacement products and Tabac Info Service tools.

Your questions, without judgement

Must I be sure I will succeed before registering?

You can get information and prepare even if you are still unsure. The programme offers a kit and advice for the preparation period and the 30-day challenge.

Can my nurse help?

Yes. You can discuss your smoking, difficulties and suitable support. Nurses can prescribe nicotine replacement products. Eligible products are reimbursed at 65% by Assurance Maladie when prescribed; additional coverage depends on your insurance.

I smoked a cigarette again: should I give up?

A difficulty is worth discussing without judgement. It helps identify what is missing and adjust your support. You can ask for help at any time.
